Observation #1 |8th Grade Spanish

For my first classroom observation I observed Ms. Maria Garcia at Harmony Middle School. Señorita Garcia teaches middle school Spanish. During the time I was in her classroom she taught two hours of 8th grade. This classroom experience was strictly for observing, but during it I took notes about the classroom environment and watched as Ms. Garcia taught lessons and interacted with her students. This observation helped me to consider if I want to maybe become a Spanish teacher, and it defimitely helped me to discover that middle school is not for me. I love the little kids!
Observation #2 |1st Grade

For my second classroom observation I observed Ms. Kelsey Parker at Liberty View Elementary School. Ms. Parker teaches 1st grade. During the time I was in her classroom, the kids were mainly learning math. I also took notes and observed Kelsey as she was teaching during this observation, but I actually had the opprutunity to walk around and help the kids as well. I took on more of a student teacher role, and planned and taught my own lesson on subtraction. This observation helped me to see what being an elementary teacher is really like, and made me realize how much I love teaching. I became really close to this group of kids and loved the experience!
Observation #3 |5th Grade

For my third and final observation of the Fall 2013 semester, I observed Mrs. Traci Ashen at Harmony Elementary School. Mrs. Ashen teaches 5th grade. During the time that I was in the classroom, I observed reading and social studies. I observed the students while they worked, and took notes over Mrs. Ashen's teaching style. I had the opprutunity to work with the kids one on one while they were learning, but did not get a chance to teach my own lesson. I really liked the 5th graders, but I think the little 1st graders are more for me!!
