For my first partnership, I went back to Miss Parker's first grade classroom that I was in for part of first semester. They were all so happy that I was back! For this partnership, I had the opportunity to teach 3 of my lesson plans, and take on more of a student teacher role. I had to interview the principal, shadow a student, and go to a staff meeting as part of my assignments. I mainly taught math during the period of time that I was there, and I also got to shadow them during recess and a little bit of reading and writing.  During the time that I was in this classroom, I learned a lot about first grade and what they are like. Their learning styles are definitely more hands on, but I absolutely loved my first graders and the impact they made on my CAPS journey. I am so blessed that I had the opportunity to work with them and be like their second teacher. They truly were so much fun to work with and I loved how sweet they were to me! I will definitely consider first grade when I start applying for teaching jobs. I cannot tell you how much this group of sweethearts meant to me, teaching them changed my life!

Student Teaching Experience: Internship

It took me a while to find a classroom to work in for my second partnership, but once I did it was so worth it! I ended up in Miss Jardon's third grade classroom. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about third grade after falling in love with my first graders, but I ended up absolutely loving getting to work with them each and every day! Their bright smiles would always greet me at the door, and every day from when I arrived in their classroom to when I left they never failed to leap out of their seats and hug me. I was only in this classroom for about a month, so I only had the opportunity to teach them 2 of my lesson plans. As part of my assignments, I went to a  Board of Education meeting, interviewed the principal, shadowed a student, and went to a staff PLC meeting. These third graders really opened my eyes to make me realize how much I am passionate about teaching, and how I can't wait to have a classroom of my own someday. They aspired me to follow my dreams, and keep trying to be the best possible teacher that I can be someday. On my last day, they surprised me by making me cards and attacking me with hugs, it was definitely bittersweet. I loved my sweet third graders, and I can't wait to see what my future holds. What a great way to end my CAPS journey!!
